Men's Looks at the 2016 Emmy Awards

The Emmys commemorate the best performances and achievements in television. As it is an award show, men tend to dress the part. Similar to the Oscars, some of the most famous names in acting show up in their best evening attire prepared to deliver an award speech that will be seen by millions.

At Buy4LessTuxedo, we take note of a good black tuxedo. This year, there was more than just black and white, as navy blue and crimson also made their appearance on the red carpet.

Here are some of the most notable examples of men’s formal attire.

Kit Harrington

The Game Of Thrones star made his appearance in a shawl collar, slim-fit tuxedo. A fantastic combination of the new-school fit and old-school sensibilities made his look recognizable without being loud. The shawl collar outlined in a separate fabric further accentuated the slim look. The button-less shirt was another nice touch, one rarely seen. The only problem with his outfit was the flap pockets, typically considered antiquated in modern dress.

The American Crime actor could be spotted from anywhere in the room or on the carpet in his crimson tuxedo. The velvet fabric was an interesting choice but clearly avoided the shiny look of some other fabrics. The pin on the shawl collar was a classic touch, one rarely used by men in modern dress.

Rami Malek

We’re not saying that the white tuxedo jacket gave the Mr. Robot actor his first win, but we’re also not not saying that. Malek showed up looking the polar opposite of the character he plays on TV with a white notch collar tuxedo jacket, black pants (note the wide braid), shined black shoes and a large, but sensible bowtie. White jackets are a bold move, but those who can pull them off make them look great.

Bryan Cranston

One of TV’s most beloved actors of the past decade showed up to the Emmy Awards in an example of some of the best formal attire a man can wear. Midnight blue jacket? Check. Shawl collar? Check. Medium bowtie? Check. Jetted pockets? Check. Lay-down shirt collar? Check. Well-shined oxfords? Check. Smile? Check. Cranston may have already won best actor years ago, but he just won the red carpet too.
