To Vent Or
Not To Vent? |

In less than a dozen years, vent-less jackets have gone from avant-garde to mainstream. This design gives the hip a cleaner, more slimming line while lending the suit a dressier stature. The trade off is a tuxedo jacket that may wrinkle a bit more versus a vented tuxedo jacket. The popularity of full back vests has fueled the design of the no vent tuxedo jacket, by maintaining the formal look even if the jacket is taken off. Typically, guests tend to wear their tuxedo jacket until the reception, where it is then left on the back of a chair. The vest continues the formal look throughout the night, allowing the wearer to be a little more comfortable and cool while mingling with the guests. That being said, if you have a jacket with vents it is by no means out of style. Vented jackets are fine for any occasion and offer the wearer the ability to be seated with his jacket still on if so chooses. |
