Are most bowties "pre-tied" or "self tie"?

In general, most bowties are "pre-tied". They have an adjustable band that goes around the neck which makes it easy for size adjusting. Many years ago, many of the pre-tied bowties had a bad stigma about them because they obviously looked pre-tied. Many of today's pre-tied bowties make better knots so the average person cannot visually notice if it is pre-tied or self tie. For this reason, you do not have to feel bad if you do not know how to tie a bowtie.
