Can a tuxedo be worn with just a tuxedo tie or do you have to wear a vest/cummerbund with the tie? |
When a comes to accessorizing your tuxedo, there are a few basic rules to understand regarding neckwear. If you are wearing a long tie, you would usually NOT wear a cummerbund. Although you can pull off just the long tie look only; a tuxedo vest is often recommended because it tends to give a more formal and special look to your ensemble.
If you are wearing a bowtie, then you do want to wear either a vest or a cummerbund with the bowtie. Otherwise, there is just too much shirt showing with just a bowtie only.
