Tuxedos are available in 3 basic styles: notch, peak, and shawl. These 3 terms refer to the lapels on a
tuxedo jacket. Choosing one that is right for you is simply a matter of taste or preference.
Notch = the most popular style today. A triangular indentation is cut where the lapel joins the
collar.
Peak = most classic style. A broad V-shaped lapel that points up and out just below the
collar line.
Shawl = A smooth, rounded edge lapel.
